About Me

The Untidy Cook is written by Andrea Foot and is a day to day reflection upon everyday cooking, eating, dining and other random things that pique my interest.

I hope to share with you my love of food and its magical conversion into things that me and mine love to eat. There is also the healthy expectation that sometimes my 'bung it' style of cooking turns out yucky messes as well as yummy magic.

The primary recipient of these culinary outpourings is The Loved One. Long suffering, patient and with a stomach apparently lined with zinc, he helps soothes my various excitations. His personal foible is a weakness for jelly and custard with sprinkles.

Riding shotgun in this adventure are my friends as well as food emporiums, restaurants and, of course, the contents of my fridge.

Andrea is a recovering Pom and an emerging Aussie, based in Sydney, who is gradually learning that going to the beach doesn't require a whole day spent trapped with your siblings in Mini Traveller ending with a rain soaked tramp down an endless grey mudflat to a sullen sea.
